Job Description

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities/Trách nhiệm và nhiệm vụ chính

QC Material Engineer shall be responsible to liaise with warehouse personnel to check incoming raw materials, pipe fittings, instruments, equipments, mechanical packages etc and verify the materials during fabrication processes, the following inspection activities shall be applied:
• Jointly check the incoming materials with warehouse personnel against PO & certificates
• Review the certificates against spec and applicable codes
• Check the storage conditions against the yard practice and manufacturer’s recommendation
• Prepare the Good inwards inspection report (GIIR)
• Verify and ensure the traceability of materials during fabrication process.
• Prepare the material traceability report
• Issue the NCR or OSD when the materials not complied with PO or spec.
• Liaise with surveyor or client to verify and review the materials
• Report to Quality Manager and inform to other QC engineer any inspection results, Discrepancy, NCR, … which founded during inspection.
• Weekly report to Quality Manager

• Perform other duties when required by Manager.

People Management/Quản lý con người:
• To manage class surveyors and client representative on site and shipyard for materials inspection activities.
Interpersonal Management/Quản lý sự kết nối:
• To work closely with relative department in SMV and class surveyors and client representative for inspection activities.
• To make a plan of inspection to contact class, client representative...via by email, phone...
Information Management/Quản lý thông tin:
• All Quality documentation and information to be managed and control according to SMV procedures.
Personal Management/Quản lý bản thân:
• Inspection activities and time management to complete inspection work with relative department, class and client at highest effect.
• Look for on-the-job opportunities to broaden and improve work knowledge base.
• Exhibit behaviour consistent with Strategic Marine cultural statement.

Knowledge/Kiến thức
• Good knowledge of materials in heavy industry or shipbuilding
• Aware of all company procedures, class rules, client specification and relative standards to be applied.
Qualifications/ Bằng cấp
• Graduated from Technical College or welding experiences relating to ship building, mechanical.
• English level A
Skills/ Kỹ năng
• Honest and hard working with Good inspection skills: Observation skill, record skills and comparison skill.
• Good English command, Good reading and understanding design approved DWGs and QA/QC document and computer skill.
• Good communication skill: Negotiation skills, analytical thinking, Gathering and analyzing data for right decision making skills and Problem solving skill,
• Good Planning and organizing inspection activities skill.
Ability/ Khả năng
• Ability to work under high pressure and strict deadlines.

POSITION 2: HSE OFFICER
Candidate must possess at least a Certificate/Diploma, College Degree, Bachelor's Degree, Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
Required language(s): English, Vietnamese
At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Preferably Senior Staff/Team Leader/Supervisors specializing in Engineering - Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent.
Full-Time position(s) available.
Job Description


Main Activities / Tasks (Principal Accountabilities) :
- Conducts scheduled and unscheduled inspections of project or area of responsibilities and work site facilities and locations to ensures compliance with applicable codes, regulations, guidelines and procedures.
- Observes work in progress, ensures that proper safety equipment is worn and procedures are followed.
- Endorses permit to work on daily basis.
- Attend daily vessel safety coordination committee meeting if required.
- Notifies project management staff and HSE head regarding violations of safety regulations, procedures and codes.
- Analyzes hazards and develops risk assessments for areas and work sites.
- Develops HSE plans, procedures and guidelines to minimize risk to employees.
- Records and summarizes results and prepares recommendations based upon study results.
- Prepares a variety of narrative and statistical reports, correspondence and other written materials.
- Maintains accurate records and files relating to HSE issues.
- Performs a variety of tests using sophisticated testing equipment.
- Provide safety induction, briefing, toolbox talks and training in both areas of HSE practices to all employees, subcontractors’ employees, visitors and client personnel.
- Reviews accidents and makes recommendation for prevention of similar future incidents / accidents.
- Makes recommendations for corrections and follows-up to ensure that violations have been corrected.
- Evaluates concerns and alternatives, resolves complaints and makes recommendations to head of project for corrective action, as required.
- Serves as a member of the emergency response team, identifies potentially dangerous situations in an emergency and effects solutions and implements responsibilities as delegated during emergency response situations.
- Prepares HSE guidelines as requested by project management team or clients if required.
- Identify, recommend and address changes as necessary.
- Analyze accidents, communicate training needs and reports.
- Assist in the development of HSE policies, procedures and standards.
- Participate in accident/incidents prevention program and the investigation on accidents and incidents.
- Attend all meetings if required.
- Performs others related duties as assigned or requested.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Good written and verbal communication English skills.
- Good skill in use of computers.
- A passion for safety and the industry and a real desire to motivate people to change any current unsafe practices.
- The ability to communicate with people at all levels with consideration and respect for ethnicity and cultural diversity.
- A sound understanding of health, safety and environment principles, HSE management system, practices and fire safety applicable to industry.
- Able to read operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
- Making effective oral presentations to large and small groups.
- Developing and implementing an effective safety, hazard control and industrial hygiene program; assessing risks and hazards and making effective recommendations for action and correction.
- Interpreting, applying and explaining applicable laws, codes, regulations and guidelines.
- Performing technical, detailed safety, hazard, and environmental research.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
- Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities.
- Participates in HSE review of all HSE procedures.

Experience:
- Shipbuilding and ship repairing industry experience with proven service in a supervisory position in the field of HSE preferred.
- A sound understanding of risk assessment and HSE management systems.
- Experience in auditing preferred.



POSITION 3: TRAINING HSE OFFICER
Candidate must possess at least a Certificate/Diploma, College Degree, Bachelor's Degree, Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
Required language(s): English, Vietnamese
No work experience required.
Full-Time position(s) available.
Job Description


Main Activities / Tasks (Principal Accountabilities):
A. Responsibility
1. To prevent accidents occurring in area of responsibility
2. To educate workers working in safety officer’s area of responsibility on safe practices.
B. Duties
1. Assist SO in control of safety at the worksite.
2. Attend any safety training course id required.
3. Assist SO in preventing accident
4. Assist SO in the maintenance / inspection of safety equipment of painting color code for lifting appliances, gears.
5. Patrol worksite daily and find unsafe acts, unsafe condition.
6. Assist safety officer in investigating accidents, near miss incident, ect.
7. To report any hazard / unsafe situation / poor working condition to Safety Officer.
8. To report to Safety Officer in implementing safety measures have been proposed.
9. Assist in emergency response.
10. Carry out any tasks in safe and efficient manner, as directed by Safety Officer.
11. Liaises with Safety Officer on day to day operations

Knowledge and Skills:
- Able to communicate English preferred.
- Understanding of health, safety and environment or fire prevention principles preferred.

- Possess certificates related to HSE field.
- Experience at safety work preferred.
- Possess intermediate level at professional school at least.

Experience:
- Shipbuilding and ship repairing industry experience in the field of HSE preferred.
- A basic understanding of HSE preferred.

POSITION 4: SAFETY ASSISTANT

No work experience required.

- Serves as a member of the emergency response team, identifies potentially dangerous situations in an emergency and effects solutions and implements responsibilities as delegated during emergency response situations.
- Participate in accident/incidents prevention program and the investigation on accidents and incidents.
- Attend all meetings as required.
- Performs others related duties as assigned or requested.

Knowledge and Skills:

- An acceptable level of understanding of health, safety and environment principles, HSE management system, practices and fire safety applicable to industry.

Education, Qualification and Special Training:
- A demonstrable strong commitment to safety, health and the environment is essential to this position.
- Environmental or occupational safety and health diploma preferred.
- Possess a valid occupational Health & Safety Certificate as local legal requirements.

Experience:
- Shipbuilding and ship repairing industry experience in the field of HSE preferred.
- A basic understanding of risk assessment and HSE management systems.


POSITION 5: MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR
Candidate must possess at least Technical & Vocational, Certificate/Diploma, College Degree, Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Preferably Senior Staff/Team Leader/Supervisors specializing in Engineering - Mechanical/Automotive or equivalent.

• Trade school graduate Millwright mechanic or equivalent
• English can communicate to the Manager
• Work knowledge ship building Engineering works
• Good supervision and planning

Skills/Kỹ năng:
• Interpret full drawing mechanical installation
• Can operate line boring machine
• Can make lay out reference line related to machineries installation
• Can Identify the correct types of lubrication to use the equipment
• Can read measuring device such as Micro meter ,calliper, torque wrench and etc
• Understand hydraulic Equipment system


Ability/Khả năng:
• Supervises and coordinate other teams, works planning and execution
• Supervise and Instructing Installation and machineries alignment
• Monitor productivity to ensure have good quality works and finish on time
• Installation heavy equipment and machineries
• Installation Shaft bearing, Rudder bearings and propeller
• Installation Gear boxes PTO hydraulic pumps
• Main engine / gear box alignment
• Stern tube and Engine foundation chock fasting
• Commissioning Test

Experience (if any)/Kinh nghiệm (nếu có):
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as the equivalent position.
• Experience in mechanical engineering.
